5 Random things about myself (Hashtag: MedyoSecret) Hahaha

I. I am shy and introvert. #mygreateststruggleinlife

II. I don’t know why but when people say good things about me most of the time I consider it as an insult instead of compliment. Talk about trust issues!

III. It’s nearly two months since I broke up with my “we’ve-almost-reached-6-years!” boyfriend.

IV. I used to hate K-pop before because of the fact that obviously I can’t understand the lyrics of their songs. But now I’m starting to like them because of their beautiful and handsome faces plus their dance moves! lol

V. My current crush is named “Christopher”! Hahaha. Too many Christophers in the world though. *winks

Happy Monday everyone!!! :)

My Happy Catalogue (June 2014)

Hey! How are you guys? I bet some of you are still having summer hangover! Hehe. The month of June was here! Oh wait… Yes it’s already June! and we’re towards finishing the first half of the year 2014. Wow! That was quite fast! Summer season has just ended but in my own case I wasn’t able to enjoy it because I’ve had no chance to travel and to have summer getaway even at least to the nearby beaches & resorts. I’m such a summer couch potato! Haa! Actually, My friends and I have planned a trip to Negros Occidental on this 3rd week of the month but we received a bad news just yesterday about the passing away of the father of one of our travel buddy. It’s a bit frustrating but we have no choice but to cancel our trip as a sign of respect and sympathy. Well, surely we can push it through some other time.

So as promised, I am going to share to you my happy list and happy thoughts that I look forward for this month of June…

image
  • Let’s welcome June with arms wide open! I am expecting that hot thirsty days will soon be replaced by cool feels. Well, hello rainy season! We can finally sleep at night without sweating too much! lol. But let’s just hope and pray that there’s no destructive typhoons will ever come.

  • I’m about to read Stephanie Kate Strohm’s book entitled “Confederates Don’t Wear Couture”. My sister bought this on a huge book sale when they went to Cebu last time. I find this interesting because It’s not only about love but it is also about fashion and with a touch of history. Let us see if it’s really worth reading as I go along with the pages.

  • Maleficent and The Fault In Our Stars! Two movies I’m planning to watch this month. I’ve already decided to watch Maleficent tomorrow together with my friend Bi! And TFIOS will be showing on on the 6th so maybe I have to watch it later this month. I’m so excited!

image
  • Lipsticks! I am sure to enjoy these 3 shades of lipsticks I got on sale from Avon. It makes me look girly and fierce! Haha. It isn’t hard to pick color that would compliment on my daily outfits! <3

image
  • And finally! I’m already enrolled at Score High Review Center for my IELTS academic review and grammar class. Nyay! I’m not yet sure when to take the exam but as of the moment I have to focus on my review. Wish me luck and please pray for my success guys. Hehehe

That’s it for now! I’m wishing everyone a happy and productive days of June ahead! xoxo

Monday Afternoon with Sisters

Two weeks from now classes will already resume. So my sisters and I  decided to make the most of the remaining days of their summer vacation. Today we went food tripping at Icepot and spent the rest of the afternoon strolling at Iloilo river esplanade

My sisters Joann & Gie really love the Korean ambiance at Icepot.

Life lately.. (Version 2.0)

Annyeong haseyo! Having this Korean feels right now! Blame it to my K-pop fanatic sisters! lol. Because of course summer vacation is not yet over, I always find them (my sisters) talking about K-pop the whole day at home, listening to k-pop songs (especially EXO), watching videos, etc..

So here I go.. These past few days, I became very emotional because of so many reasons. And let me state them in bullets:

  • Speaking of K-pop, 3 days ago I was able to watch a Korean movie entitled “Miracles in Cell no.7” and it was such a very heart-breaking movie about the father and daughter story. In fact, I cried so hard that I nearly consumed a roll of tissue paper. Hehe. Really a must watch!
  • I had weird dreams lately. Like I dreamt about my grandmother who passed away a couple of years ago, then one time its about my encounter with lots of creepy snakes that scares the sh*t out of me! I also dreamt about dark skies, floods, and tidal waves! Until now I can’t figure out what my dreams are trying to tell me.
  • I missed my friends! My closest friends to be exact. It’s been so long since the last time we’ve seen each other and there’s a lot of things to catch up!
  • At this moment, I must admit I’m having a crush on someone whom I think I have no chance with. And I hate that bittersweet hopeless feeling I am having right now! *sigh
  • And the last thing that makes me feel nostalgic is that my duty days in WVSUMC were already over! My 3 months contract have ended last May 21. I will miss a lot of things and people especially my colleagues (most of all that someone I mentioned above). Now you know! Haha! This is why I feel so sad. But I still have plans to go back on September for my specialization. Let’s just hope for the best! :)

Here’s to better and happy days ahead! Take care! :*

Brother’s Graduation Day

This is a mandatory post by a proud sister!. lol *wink *wink

So yesterday, April 12, 2014 was my brother Joe’s college graduation at the University of San Agustin.

image

image

Oh it feels so good to be back in my beloved Alma Mater! I’m a little bit envy because their graduation was at the football field unlike ours two years ago that was held only at the gym.

The graduates on the wide screen.

Their commencement speaker was Mr. Henry O. Chusuey, our fellow Augustinian alumna.

image

I was able to capture my brother marching on stage and took his diploma only on the screen though they have an official photographer so we can’t just easily come closer to the stage to take pictures.

The graduate and the proud parents. :)

Meet my one and only brother, the campus hearthrob! When I took this photo I ask him, “Hey! Why are you not smiling?”, he answered, “Because I’m sleepy!”. Haha! Whatever bro! Supladooooo everrrrrr! ;)

And here’s his award, Best thesis for BS Foreign Service!

Dear Brother, I know that we had a mini misunderstanding these past few months but despite of it I’m sincerely congratulating you for a job well done on your studies. I know this is awkward but I want you to know that I’m proud of you! Hahaha! I am always here to support you to whatever career you choose. I wish you all the best as you enter the REAL LIFE! God bless and congratulations! Love you! Hahahahahaha. yaaaaayy!!!!

Life lately..

I’m a little bit amazed by how days had gone so fast! We are now in the mid March and the transition of cold gloomy weather to hot stinky one marks the beginning of summer (well, here in Philippines tho)! Yey! Beach, bikinis, white sand, cold drinks, chill nights, vacay, and a lot of adventures coming up! So much excitement!

In my own case, I want this season to be more productive. Lately, I’m enjoying my life as a career woman. I’m happy to be currently working at West Visayas State University Medical Center as a staff nurse trainee, still without salary (*sigh) but at least a much bigger and better work place for me. My colleagues there were so nice even my superiors. I’ve gained more confidence and I’m always enjoying while working with them.

This month is also a closing time for school year 2013-2014. And last week I received a letter from my gradeschool alma mater St. Mary’s Integrated School, inviting me to be the guest speaker for their graduation on the 27th. I am so overwhelmed that i can’t say no. I immediately called up Teacher Rose and confirmed my availability. This is my first time but I’m excited. Yaaaay! :)

I’m also glad to share that my not-so-little-suplado-gwapito brother (bwahahahaha) will also graduate next month with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Foreign  Service! (Hey bro! please pursue your goal to be a future Diplomat/Ambassador! lol). It feels good to see my parents happy and proud and that their sacrifices are paying off.

And oh, I’m back to being single! hahaha. Yes, single as in back to ZERO coke zero love life! haha corny i know I know! But I’m okay, I’m getting used to this. I’ll be fine eventually. As for now I’m happy and contented (I hope you don’t sense bitterness.lol). By the way I would like to share a very good article I’ve read yesterday about love, relationship, and cheating. Take time to read every single word and you’ll be enlightened. Check it here.

That’s all for now folks! xoxo

P.S. I have a new blog header and background! Speaks more of my personality and love for anything floral. Go check and tell me what you think. Thanks!

I’m Finally back after more than a month of not updating my blog. I really feel sorry for myself. Busy as always. :( Well anyway, before anything else I would like to check how are you doing guys? These past weeks have been very terrible. From earthquakes to floods, and now everyone is weeping for the aftermath of the super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. One of the strongest typhoon in history that hit the Philippines specifically in the Visayas region last November 8, 2013 causing massive destruction of properties and killed thousands of lives.

I would like to dedicate this post to all the victims of typhoon Yolanda. My thoughts and prayers for them. I literally cried upon hearing and seeing the news since last Saturday. I can’t even.. Very heartbreaking! I have also relatives from the northern Iloilo that were effected. I can’t even imagine their fears and worries while they experience the terrible storm. Like most of us, I’ve also donated relief goods and clothes to the victims and It really feels great to help. So to those of you that is reading this post I would like to encourage you to also help in every way you can, no matter how little or simple. Donate or you may help repacking relief goods. There’s a lot of ways and a lot of institutions where you can go and render services..in your community, schools, hospitals, malls, and some NGOs. If other nations are helping then why can’t we? Do something!

To my Kababayans from Tacloban, Capiz, Northern Iloilo and all parts of Visayas who were greatly affected, maybe you cannot read this but I would like to tell each and everyone of you, don’t ever lose hope! God loves you and the whole world is here for you. As what the lyrics says in Julie Anne San Jose’s song “Pagbangon”, Isang bayan, tayo'y aahon..walang maiiwan sa pagbangon. Isang lakas, isang pag-asa patungo sa bagong umaga..

God Bless Philippines!

Mondays.

Hey! how’s everyone doing? It’s a beautiful Monday morning and I would like to share my happy thoughts as of now..

  • Last night was my first time to accompany a patient for a referral at Mission hospital. I’m a bit nervous although the patient’s condition was stable. And for the record, It was also my first time to ride in an ambulance. lol. Talk about first times! Thank God it went well. hehe.
  • Somedaydream updates- Rez Toledo posted the 2nd part of the “Open Letter to SOMEDAYDREAM SUPPORTERS” yesterday. He clarified few things about the Somedaydream “project” and his upcoming plans. Read it here. #FeelingExcited
  • I am grateful to my visitors, few blog readers and new followers for visiting my site even though my posts are sometimes nonsense and photo quality sucks because obviously I don’t have good editing skills. Hahaha. Stiil, I would like to thank you guys! :)
  • Recently, I’m planning for my next DIY project but still I have no idea when to post it because of lack of time due to busy work schedules. Watch out! soon..
  • And oh it’s 100 days before Christmas! My favorite time of the year. I’m so excited for the yuletide season. Are you too? :)

Let’s start the week right! Positive vibes! xx

Quick Realizations

Time flies so fast! It’s already September and it’s been a month now since I started working as a volunteer nurse. August has been good to me although I considered it as an  adjustment period. And now I can say that I have already adjusted with my work routine, with the hospital setting and as well as with my colleagues. For my first month of work as a Registered Nurse (without salary.LOL), I’ve learned many things such as:

  • Being Assertive
  • Being Flexible
  • Having self-confidence
  • Never be ashamed to ask when in doubt
  • Good communication skills with patients and their folks
  • Smile despite how busy and tired you are
  • And lastly, prayer is the best thing that can help you when you are afraid, in doubt of things, or feel troubled.

These things also helped me in my personal growth as a person. Being a nurse is a hard and toxic job. We interact with different kinds of people everyday. We face a lot of diseases, and we have heavier responsibilities because in our hands we carry the precious lives of our patients. But despite how hard and complicated our job is, there are also things that could transform our bad moods into a happy one like seeing a newly born bouncing baby, an old man/woman who feel secured and assured with a nurse’ therapeutic touch, and a simple “thank you” from a patient or his/her folks. I believe you are truly called to become a nurse when you will feel happy even with these little things.

Commit your actions to the Lord and your plans will succeed. ~Proverbs 16:3

Here’s to more toxic days and meaningful experience! Happy Ber months everyone!!! :)
