Feature Recipe: Homemade Potato Salad

Hi there! Guess what?… This is my first ever blog post about food. Yup! And I’ll be sharing this healthy recipe I’ve learned from my mom. A Potato Salad! We cooked this late in the afternoon today. And I swear, it’s so yummy!!!

Here are the ingredients:

  • Common Yellow Potato
  • Red beets/Sugar beets 
  • Celery
  • Mayonnaise
  • Pineapple Chunks

Procedures:

1. Peel off the potatoes and cut into bite size cubes.

2. Steam the potatoes using a steamer. Steam the yellow and red separately. (Tip: We chose to steam the potatoes instead of boiling to avoid it from being overcooked and to maintain the crunchiness of the red bits.)

3. Chopped finely the celery.

4. Open a can of pineapple chunks and drain.

5. Mix all the ingredients and put the mayonnaise. Mix well. (You may add a pinch of sugar if you want.)

(The color turned out pink because of the red beets.)

And it’s done! Chill and serve!
